Here at Successful Health we pride our selves on our no nonsense approach to creating good health. We believe that it is a combination of balancing the three main aspects of Proper Nutrition, Correct Exercise & Stress Management. These are the three components of health that when focused on consistently can help us unlock the genetic potential we were born with. This is wildly different to the ill health that most modern humans are operating in or despite of.

Whether you are a top athlete looking for faster reactions, or an individual looking to live longer, the three foundation principles are still the same and can have a powerful effect on your body and performance.?

Correct Exercise comes via understanding the role of our Nervous System, individual needs of our structure and activities we wish to perform well at. Good, efficient movement comes via the progressive skills of co-ordinated joint mobility & awareness first, then followed by the added components of strength, power or endurance. If any of us focus on adding more strength, power or endurance at a level higher than the body’s can stabilise, control or co-ordinate it’s joints. This will lead to injury and reduce performance – guaranteed! Our strength, power and endurance are only as good as our base of controlled mobility, see pyramid on left. Without proper mobility, the pyramid will be unbalanced, as the base will not be able to support the level above.

Proper Nutrition comes via the appreciation that ‘no one size diet fits all’ and through careful analysis of your body’s unique needs for food and nutrients you are able to tap into the real health that your body is capable of achieving. We truly believe that food is the most important medicine you consume and with regular attention great health & fitness levels can be reached. Without listening carefully or testing your body, it is impossible to make informed decisions about what nutrition is right for you to help improve performance, increase health or lose bodyfat.

Stress Management is the third component of good health that must be respected for the body to operate at its optimum levels, whether this is rest time so that athletes can recover and rebuild muscles, relaxation so that overloaded brain chemicals can recover or social time so that you can feel happy with who you are and in your surroundings relationships. A stressed body will breakdown more quickly, an overworked mind will lose its energy and an out of balance life will lead to not feeling relaxed, happy and willing to exercise.
