Biography

Our aim is to provide our clients with the necessary tools to improve their health, vitality, performance and general wellbeing – creating the healthiest people on the planet. Our services are designed to fill the growing demand for individuals wishing to take control of their own health and fitness. Guy Edwards started the company in 2007 to help individuals bridge the gap between – good health and the absence of disease, ideal human function and injury, as the absence of disease does not always mean good health, the current absence of injury does not mean you are functioning at your athletic potential.

Guy has been involved professionally in the health and fitness industry for over 11 years, firstly in health clubs and now works independently as a health & performance coach, using exercise, nutrition, lifestyle modification and functional diagnostic nutrition laboratory work as a foundation for helping the body reach optimal health, this works well combining with his initial training as a strength and conditioning coach, corrective exercise therapist and injury prevention specialist.

It all started as Guy was involved in array of sports from a young age, playing representative hockey and cricket at junior age groups. The interest began in the rehabilitation side of things as he started to pick up injuries from all the sport he was playing, why were some people getting injured and others who were doing similar amounts remaining injury free? This was the start of a deep and ongoing search into health, nutrition, exercise and human development. Using clinical experience and techniques developed by Osteopaths, Naturopathic doctors, functional diagnostic nutritionists, Chiropractic physicians, movement therapists and health specialists he uses nutrition and exercise to improve the wellbeing of every one of his clients entire body and mind.

After completing his studies at Newcastle University Guy enrolled on the Premier Diploma for Personal Trainers and Sports Therapists, completing the training in Feb 2000. This was just the start, since then he has embarked upon what many believe to be the most comprehensive level of training in the Health, Exercise and Lifestyle industry. His studies continued at the Corrective High-performance Exercise Kinesiology (C.H.E.K) Institute in California and progressed to the acclaimed Z-Health performance and rehabilitation system. He has also studied manual therapy at degree level for three years. This fits is well with his enthusiasm and continued study of Physiology, Exercise Therapy, Manual Therapy, Nutrition, Herbology/Chinese Medicine and martial arts, where he concentrates on the health aspects of Tai Chi and Qi Gong. All this forms a well balanced multi-disciplinary approach to health and fitness. Guy has trained athletes at many levels, from international competition to the recreational levels. He has consulted for title winning hockey and cricket teams, professional golfers here in the UK and overseas in Australia.

What is a C.H.E.K Practitioner?
C.H.E.K Practitioners are specialists in corrective exercise and high-performance conditioning. They understand & and can assist particularly in complex orthopedic conditions. A certified C.H.E.K Practitioner has completed all four levels, plus passed a rigorous battery of exams, written a thesis and shown excellence in live presentations. C.H.E.K Practitioners come from a varied background including fitness professionals, strength and conditioning coaches, osteopaths, physical therapists, chiropractors, massage therapists, podiatrists, athletic trainers and so on.
